The Commissioner, Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment Hon. Paddy Egbede has felicitated with the Governor of Cross River State Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu on the occasion of his 64th Birthday Anniversary Celebration.

Gov. Otu implements free tuition for all Cross Riverians, Exempts C'Riverians from paying Senior Secondary School Examination fees

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu has implemented free tuition fees for all Cross Riverians in Public Primary and Secondary Schools in the State.

In a memo signed by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Palliative Distribution Committee – Professor Owan Enoh, Governor Otu also exempted the payment of senior secondary schools examination fees in the State beginning from the current academic session as part of palliative measures to cushion the harsh economic reality.

The APC Candidate for Ogoja State Constituency in the 2023 State House of Assembly election, Engr Dr Thomas Aruku felicitates with his Bakor Brothers on this year's New yam Celebration. In his New Yam message to his Bakor Brothers he acknowledged the importance of harvest. 


He said New yam is a time to take stock of the blessings, favour and mercies of God. "It calls for a reflection on our ancestral roots as brothers. We can not jettison where we are coming from and where we are going. This knowledge puts us in a right frame of where we ought to be as a people. We have a common ancestry of being our brother's keeper, this is the ideals of our founding fathers".


He reiterated by saying we should build on this principles of brotherly love, where unity will overshadow our differences, communal spirit over individualism. I wish you all a wonderful celebration.

HON PATRICK EGBEDE ATTENDS EXECUTIVE COUNCIL RETREAT, HAILS C'RIVER GOVERNOR FOR HIS PROACTIVE STRATEGY TOWARDS REBUILDING THE STATE.


The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment in Cross River State, Hon. Patrick Egbede recently attended a two day Cross River Executive Council Retreat 2023 organized by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). 



The two days retreat which was held at the Calabar Cnternational Conference Centre(CICC) had the theme "Rebuilding Cross River". Also in attendance were the Governor of the State Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Out, the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey and other members of the Executive Council. 


Declaring open the two day retreat open the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu said the retreat was conceived to help members of the executive council to better understand the working of government and prepare the team for the task ahead. 



Hon. Patrick Egbede speaking in an engagement with journalist after the retreat, applauded the Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Otu for his proactive strategy towards rebuilding Cross River. 

He added that the retreat was impactful and the members of the Executive Council were better positioned to understand the vision of the administration and deliver on quality governance.

Gbajabiamila, the immediate past Speaker of the House of the Representatives, presented the list to Senate President Godswill Akpabio at exactly

Akpabio said the list was dated July 27, 2023 and titled, ‘Request For Confirmation Of Ministerial-Nominees.

APC CAMPAIGN FLAG-OFF: PRINCE OTU PRESENTS BLUE PRINT AS AYADE REASSURES THE PEOPLE OF A BETTER CROSS RIVER STATE

The ruling All Progressive Congress in Cross River State yesterday flagged off  its governorship campaign.

The Ogoja Township Stadium venue of the campaign flag off was filled to the brim. The crowd was effusive as they played host to the Governor Senator Prof Ben Ayade CON, the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, the State Party Chairman Barr Alphonsus Eba Ogar, dignitaries and party supporters.
The governorship candidate of the party Sen Prince Bassey Otu used the opporturnity to unveil his blueprint he called "The People's First Manisfestoe". He said the governor, Senator Prof Ben Ayade has left a big shoe they have to step into and acknowledged that the state has an emerging economy that if rejigged can employ one to two million of Cross River youths. He urged Cross Riverians to be ready to grab the opportunities that will come their way as a result of the foundation that has been laid by Gov. Ben Ayade.
The Governor Sen. Prof Ben Ayade CON in his speech said the governorship candidate of the party Sen Prince Bassey Otu has all it takes to lead Cross River State, he reiterated that he plays politics of ethics with a touch of humanism. "it is  the turn of the South, it has gone round the North and Central, it's based on equity that it should return to the South after 16 years, no candidate is contesting in the Central for now" he said.

The Director General of the Campaign Council Ambassador Sunny Abang in his speech said Governor Ayade came to liberate the state from it's oppressors. He reiterated that since 1999 it's the PDP that has been in governance in Cross River State, and as such Ayade inherited a heavy debt burden from his predecessors. Whatever went wrong is the PDP because APC is a new party in the state.
The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Barr Alphonsus Eba Ogar urged the people to vote the APC from top to bottom in the general elections, he said we will reclaim our stolen mandate of Cross River North in the forth coming Senatorial election, he urged the people to exercise their franchise through the ballot box.

The occasion also witness the defection of hundreds of people from the PDP to the ruling APC. One of the defectors Mr Emmanuel Lifu  who spoke on behalf of the defectors said the APC is a complete team, unlike where he is coming from you only have five team players who dictate the pace and activities of the party. They promised to work hard and deliver all APC candidates in the elections.
